Wedding Plates

So we etched a rather large plate image for my neices wedding, we decided to give them to them early so that they could display them at the reception. Here's the pictures of the finished plates. The images don't really show it well but the one with their names and the dates are 6" Plates and the Temple one is a 9" Plate.

We learned a few things along the way, one of them is to mask the area that you are not etching. As we accidentally dripped etching cream on a part of the plate and had to put the hearts on the smaller plates to cover up our boo boo.

Mickey once again speechless

It was a sad night last night as I learned of the passing of Wayne Allwine, Mr. Allwine has voiced Mickey Mouse since 1977. I know Disney will find another talent to voice Mickey but Allwine is the Mickey of my Childhood. I will miss the tonal quality of his Mickey Mouse, it was much closer to Walt Disney's Mickey than Jimmy MacDonald ever came. And because he did Mickey Mouse for so long it is he who has left an indelible image on the world as the definitive Mickey Mouse.

Goodnight Pal.

Etching

I am looking at an etching project that I am not sure how well it will come out, It rather involves many thinner lines and I am not sure how it will turn out... since it's a wedding present and the receiver might be reading my blog I won't post any more details than that at this time.

Just wondering about etching fine lines...

- Just and Update it looks like it came out great and after the wedding pictures will follow :-)

My Home Made Mother's Day Gifts

Hi All,

Kay and I found some glass candle holders at the Dollar store and blue candles. I used some Vinyl scrap that I had at home to create templates and used etching cream to etch the Word MOM on the Front and a Fluer de lis on the back, then we printed tags on colored paper and used my xylon sticker maker to affix them to cardstock and cut them out and attached them with ribbon.

Here are the pictures of the finished product.

So The total cost of 1 was about $2.50 each we made 7 of them for my sisters and my mom, we actually liked them so much we are thinking about making a few more to give away to Kay's family too.

Today is May Day!, My wife remarked that no one celebrates May day anymore. In days-gone-by people would have hung small floral arrangements on their doorknobs.

Well Welcome to May

Anyway!
